Here is a YouTube video that shows the reaction between Potassium metal and liquid Bromine. I chose this video because I have always loved watching chemicals explode. My favorite labs in high school always involved fire and explosions. In this particular video, the professor is portraying how important it is to approach this lab with caution. She clearly explains that a long stick is needed for dipping the potassium, along with safety protection, and a fan. I think it is important to know which chemicals react with each other in order to avoid fatal accidents in the lab. However, I wish this video explained more in depth about why these two specific chemicals react the way they do when put together.
