Supercool Water

I found this article about the newly found potentials of water molecules intriguing. As we all know, the “key to life” is water, but it may have more advantages than once thought. Scientists and researchers are now thinking that water molecules can be used to solve many of life’s predicaments. This is largely due to water’s tetrahedral structure and its interaction with its’ molecular neighbors. A greater understanding of these ideas will allow scientists to further research in the fight against cancer and have a new outlook on numerous biological and chemical puzzles in our world.

  1. Awesome article Nikki! I've always loved water and it's great to see that not only does that good old H2O hydrate me, but it also keeps that cancer and other diseases away from me.

  2. Interesting article Nikki; however, I think it leaves a lot of questions unanswered. I am curious to know just how water's tetrahedral structure and interactions with neighboring molecules can lead to fights against cancer and other chemical puzzles. It all seems a little vague and I would like to know more!

  3. I agree with Cullen. This article doesn't do a good job explaining how water could someday solve cancer. It's a pretty big claim to make and then not mention again in the article. What about the tetrahedral structure and interactions makes it a potential cancer fighter?

  4. Responding to Sarah Yu's comment, I think the article's main connection to cancer is that they will be able to improve chemotherapy treatments by finding how to manipulate water and chemo drugs' solubility in it. If we can eliminate the side effects of chemotherapy treatments, it would be a huge leap for us in the war against cancer.
