Methane is released into the atmosphere on Earth, from various sources. The source that we might have heard of before is from oil. Exertion of Methane, in this case, happens from combustion and transmission of oil, coal, or natural gas.
Turns out that fossil fuels and stomachs of cows also exert Methane into the atmosphere, just like the termites in the tropics. Methane in this case is emitted by the microbes.
Another source for Methane production is biomass methane production which mostly comes from humans.
Since methane increase is a global phenomenon currently. Scientists point out sources for Methane production and emission. Tropical Wetlands is outlined as a place to study, because it is identified as a significant natural source of methane.
