Basically, when I first saw this reaction I was stunned. I thought right away that this had to be edited in some way to turn a clear solution completely black. The chemical reaction consisted of mixing two mixtures together. First they created a mixture in a glass that consisted of 3/4 of cup of water, one starch pellet, and 1/2 TSP of Sodium Sulfite/Citric Acid. The second glass consisted of 3/4 cup of water and 1/4 Sodium Iodate. The two separate mixtures were mixed together and transferred into a separate glass and in a blink of an eye the solution turned black! It sounds more interesting and exciting once you see it, but still, I found this really cool!

That did look cool. Idea of chemical substances mixing together and forming certain colors is interesting to think about.
