The Name's Bond, Ionic Bond

This goofy little picture is a very simple way to remember the difference between ionic and covalent bonds. Ionic bonds are formed when one atom "takes" the electrons of another atom, forming positively and negatively charged ions that are bound together. This bond generally forms between metals and non-metals. The page this image appears on also reviews covalent bonds (two non-metals sharing electrons) and metallic bonding (bonding between two metals with free moving electrons).
While the web-page addresses the information in a manner geared toward high school aged students, I found it to be a concise and simple explanation for these three types of bonds. However, the picture at the end is what I really enjoyed about the site because it is an excellent way to remember what occurs in an ionic bond.
