The article : http://www.blueberry.org/health.htm, explains that blueberries contain antioxidants which are able to free our body from harmful radicals. One of the fighting antioxidant found in blueberries is called anthocyanin. Anthocyanin is a pigment that gives the fruit it's blue-red tint. The book "Feed Your Skin, Starve Your Wrinkles" also states that anthocyanin helps in absorbing vitamin C which plays an important role in the formation of collagen. Besides blueberries, other fruits packed with anthocyanin flavanoids are blackberries and raspberries.
So,if your determined to delay those wrinkles, stop with the fillers and start snacking on berries!

ReplyDeleteIn general, fruits are always thought of as to be healthy. I never knew the benefits of blueberries individually, but learning of the anthocyanin and its assistance in collagen formation is a plus. The "berries" seem to be the main carriers of the anthocyanin, which is great because they are my personal favorites.
