Coffee - What You Don't Want to Know

Coffee is crucial aspect to survive from exams and papers in college. We simply consider coffee as a tool to be awake; however, coffee has more effects than simply keeping you awake. This article breaks down the various substances which are in coffee. Although some chemicals in coffees are well known to us, such as caffeine or water, some of the other chemicals have some interesting aspects. For example, the article indicates that Dimethyl disulfide, a product of roasting the green coffee bean, is one of the compounds that give human feces its odor. The information seems disturbing to some extent, but it doesn’t hurt to know.

  1. That reminds me of the energy drink Red Bull, which has been proven to have small amounts of pig intestine in it. Sounds tasty, right? Oh, I have to say something chemistry related, caffeine has been proven to stunt growth when taken in large amounts over a period of time.
