Plants must've felt left out of recent technological advances because scientists have discovered a way to allow ordinary house plants to send texts and communicate on Twitter. The product is called Botanicalls; probes of a moisture sensor are inserted into the the soil in the flower bed, picking up electrical waves emitted by the plant. The plants must be stimulated in order to produce a text, but will allow owners to recognize when they need more or less water or simply send thanks for being taken care of. In reality, these messages are prerecorded and are determined by a computer based on signals sent to the microcontroller. Developers say this product is worth the $99 for owners who are forgetful when it comes to taking care of plants.
