Goofy but Helpful Bonding Review

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljvX-RMv_lw

This video is a little ridiculous, but I think it provides a good review of ionic, covalent, and metallic bonding. The song describes the ionic bond between sodium and chlorine, the covalent bond between oxygen and carbon, and the metallic bonds among sodium atoms. It also references oxidation, lattice structure, and the energy that is released when a bond is formed.

While the video probably has a younger target audience than college students, I found it accurate and informative. I think that having a basic understanding of the concepts before we go over them in class can be helpful, and a music video is certainly an entertaining method of achieving that understanding. I found this video interesting because I thought it was a funny yet productive review. If nothing else, it brought back memories of sixth grade science class.
