A low costing, light weight, flexible material to use for solar energy has been discovered! Polymer is a large molecule that forms different materials but now is used to improve solar power use, this is fantastic! Although researchers still need to figure out how to get it to actually create an electrical power with different materials. The polymer they are using in the solar cell is called PID2 which is discovered to improve 15% of efficient electrical power generation. This polymer works by being in the active regions in the solar cell which give and receive electrons. That way an electrical current can be generated which will expose light.
